Why?
Well, simple...It keeps your goals in order and also makes some of the mundane moments in life EXTRAORDINARY. There's no real order or guide to what your list will or could look like...it could be very elaborate and flashy with things like, running naked through central park or sexing it up in outer space. It could also be very simple like, being a mom or running a marathon...regardless of the act, the point is that it's a great way to reflect on what matters to you as a person and organize a nice list of things you want to accomplish in your life.
This ties into this weeks episode of Stranger Days...folks, meet the Dragonfruit!
Now, you may or may not have seen one of these in real life. To me this is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen with my own two eyes and felt with my own two paws. It also just so happens to be on my personal bucket list. The other day, Jb and I were walking through a local asian market pretending we were in another country (I don't know about him, but I always pretend I am in another country when I walk in there...makes it even COOOLER). It was very busy but we made our way through most of the aisles and then into the produce department. I was seeking lemongrass (mostly to see what it looks like) but to no avail and in my search nearly fell into a crate full of pink. Turning my sight to my would-have-been trip hazard, my eyes filled up with the glorious view of a bright fuchsia hue clad with green tips. The sky opened up and a light shined on the huge, heaping crate of real, live dragonfruit! My jaw hit the floor and both hands dove into the display feeling and gently squeezing and then smelling. Jb looked at me like I was crazy and I explained that I had wanted to see a real dragonfruit for a very long time. I picked one out and that was that.
because I have had dragonfruit dried, I was convinced that it was going to be red on the inside. I was wrong. Ha. |
I scooped it out with a spoon, chopped it up, and put it back into the skin. |
like thus. |
and then posed for my final picture with my bucket-list companion! |
